The 'Forget-Me-Not' Pendant

A local Nurse, Hayley Ellenton, at the Hull and East Riding NHS Women's and Children's Hospital, approached Kate to design and create a pendant in support of woman who suffer early pregnancy loss, a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy in the early stages.

The pendant was to be created and made available for the medical staff to give to all women in an individual memory box that Hayley was creating and funding for the Cedar ward and EPAU (Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit) at the hospital. Hayley also wanted the pendant to be loosely based around the forget-me-not flower.

This was a very sensitive and heartfelt project and close to Kate's heart. Kate was very honoured to be a part of it. To design and create a symbolic piece of jewellery for a very private and emotional time, was something that Kate wanted to touch with warmth and thoughtfulness.

The keepsake remembrance piece has been created with a silver circular flower pendant, encased with stencil petal leaves, an angel wing, and a gold tone glass bead.

Working with Hayley and our local NHS, has been an emotional experience and one to be remembered. We hope the funding for these memory boxes continues, making them available for all women effected.

The forget-me-not pendants are also available to purchase by clicking below.

Each pendant purchased will also provide the funding for a pendant to be donated into the Forget-Me-Not boxes at the Hull and East Yorkshire EPAU (as this is where Kate suffered her loss in 2010). I hope that this can help to bring comfort and a keepsake to other people.
